A Message From Meg

 

Having a new palette of 150 Shetland Wool colors is indeed inspiring. I have plucked a large bouquet of shades and am happily plotting new projects and experimenting with new techniques.

Sheila MacGregor's two splendid pattern-motif books are at my elbow (Traditional Fair isle Knitting and Traditional Scandinavian Knitting), along with Joyce Williams' Latvian Dreams and Lizbeth Upitis' Latvian Mittens.

Nearly unlimited shades of wool and an equal number of color-motifs from which to choose; what more could a knitter (at least, this knitter) want?

Jamieson's Shetland 2-ply Spindrift—Authentic 100% Shetland Wool from the Shetland Isles. For Fair Isle sweaters, tams, vests and shawls. 115 yds per ball/ 6 - 10 sts to 1 inch. $5.60 per 25-gr ball. We stock all of the Jamieson shades, except the 'marled' colors. We also stock a limited number of Jamieson & Smith Shetland Jumperweight shades. Jamieson and Jamieson & Smith wools can be combined to knit Fair Isle garments. *Note: We are transitioning to this wool and stock levels will flucuate at first.
